myKLINIK seeks to provide quality, affordable and accessible healthcare, primarily serving the needs of the low-income populations living in urban and peri-urban areas (townships) of South Africa, through a network of clinics in high density accessible areas in train stations and commercial retail centres.

myKLINIK is compelled by the urgent call to find innovative solutions to the significant mismatch of healthcare needs and services in South Africa, and to fill the broad chasm between the public and private sectors.

The independent network of myKLINIK and iKLINIKiyam clinics seeks to complement the public health service, operating as a non-shareholding section 21 company on a not-for-loss basis. In doing so, it provides affordable care to uninsured citizens and the ideal low-cost provider to accelerate access to quality primary care for the planned National Health Insurance system.

By leveraging infrastructure and reducing overheads & costs through strategic partnerships and innovation, myKLINIK seeks to prove a sustainable model in the pilot phase before scaling throughout the country’s train stations and accessible township and city-based retail networks.

Building on the proven successful models of low-cost and retail-based healthcare in India, Mexico, Kenya, China and the USA, myKLINIK will adapt these effective approaches to the unique urban and township setting in South Africa, integrating technologies developed for the low resource health sector.
